This summer, Choctaw Casino & Resort has seen an impressive start, with two Texans winning million-dollar prizes through the highly anticipated 3 Months 3 Millionaires contest. Last week, a man from North Texas became the latest millionaire, marking the second time this year that a Texan has claimed such a prize. Last summer, residents from Texas took home all three million-dollar awards in the same contest, highlighting the Lone Star State’s luck.
Summer Promotions and Expanding Rewards at Choctaw
With Texas casinos still illegal, residents have turned to neighboring states and online social casinos for their gaming thrills. This summer, Choctaw Casino is offering a staggering $1 million prize every month as part of the contest. According to a statement from the casino, the promotion awarded two million-dollar prizes to its rewards club members earlier this season, with a third prize still up for grabs.
Jeff Penz, the senior director of gaming and hospitality at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant, expressed the significance of these life-changing wins. “You can’t overstate the impact of making someone a millionaire,” he stated. “Last summer was extraordinary, and we wanted to provide our guests with another opportunity for transformative winnings.”
Participants must be present to win, and Carl Stone from Trenton, Texas, experienced this thrill firsthand when he won early Sunday morning. Thomas O’Sullivan, the casino’s marketing director, shared the excitement of witnessing such moments, saying, “To see the look on their face when they win a million dollars and know their life has changed forever is an unmatched experience.”
In addition to the contest, Choctaw is enhancing its rewards program across all locations. In 2023, the casino became the first in the region to introduce a comprehensive rewards system that allows guests to earn points not just from gaming, but also from dining and shopping. This includes the new Choctaw Landing, a $238 million casino that recently opened two hours east of Durant. Located near the Texas border, this new venue is poised to attract even more North Texas visitors, being just 90 miles from Texarkana and about 150 miles from the expansive Dallas-Fort Worth area.
