Four individuals were discovered dead inside a northeastern Oklahoma home on Friday in what police are calling a “possible” murder-suicide. Officers responded to a 911 call made from inside the residence shortly before 11 a.m. When the dispatcher answered, gunshots could be heard in the background, according to Broken Arrow Police Sgt. Jordan Sawyer.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found the four deceased individuals. As of Saturday, authorities have not released the names or ages of the victims, and efforts to contact officials for further information have been unsuccessful. Despite the incident, police confirmed there was no active threat to the public.
Broken Arrow’s History of Tragic Incidents
Police spokesperson Ethan Hutchins expressed the community’s sorrow over the tragedy: “Unfortunately, this is another tragic situation involving some citizens in our community,” Hutchins said at the scene. He also mentioned that the relationships between the deceased were still unclear.
Broken Arrow has witnessed similar heartbreaking events in recent years. In October 2022, a family of eight, including six children, were killed in a murder-suicide, with their home later set ablaze. Another disturbing incident occurred in 2015 when two teenage brothers, Robert and Michael Bever, fatally stabbed their parents and three siblings in the Tulsa suburb. Authorities continue to investigate the most recent incident.
