Point Place Casino has officially commenced its ambitious $50 million expansion project. The Oneida Indian Nation held a groundbreaking ceremony this week, attended by local officials, community leaders, and team members to mark the significant milestone.
Ray Halbritter, a representative of the Oneida Indian Nation and CEO of Turning Stone Enterprises, expressed the vision behind the expansion. “When we opened Point Place Casino six years ago, we envisioned it as a premier entertainment destination and an economic driver for our community,” he stated. “Our motto has always been that if you’re not growing, you’re going backward. This commitment to continuous growth and diversification is why we are pursuing this expansion.”

Aiming for a Comprehensive Experience at Point Place
The Oneida Indian Nation has consistently invested in Point Place Casino since its launch in 2018, including two previous expansions and the establishment of a retail sportsbook. This latest venture is described as a “major expansion,” set to nearly double the gaming floor while introducing a new hotel, restaurant, and meeting spaces.
The decision to invest stemmed from a significant demand from guests and the ongoing growth in Central New York. Assemblyman Brian Miller emphasized that this expansion is more than just physical improvements; it represents broader opportunities and future investments in Madison County and its surroundings.
Senator Joseph Griffo added, “The Oneidas have been longstanding partners since the Revolutionary War, and our collaboration continues to yield success. This $50 million investment will enhance Turning Stone Enterprises and establish Point Place as a premier destination for entertainment.”
Exciting Developments Ahead
The expansion plans include a multi-story hotel featuring 100 rooms, a new Perfect Pour Café in the hotel lobby, and an upgraded Fireside Lounge that will double its size while offering a 360-degree view of a new wood-burning fireplace.
The investment is projected to generate over 200 construction jobs and boost regional tourism, creating new opportunities for Turning Stone Enterprises employees. Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jim Cunningham remarked, “The Oneida Indian Nation has played a vital role in our region’s economy and continues to provide valuable jobs in Central New York.”
Greg Lancette, president of the Central-Northern New York Building & Construction Trades Council, noted that this project symbolizes “success built on success.” Terry Manning, chairman of the Bridgeport-Lakeport Civic Organization, echoed this sentiment, praising the Oneida’s significant contributions to the local economy and community support.
