The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) is gearing up for an action-packed year in Iowa with three major stops scheduled. Riverside Casino will kick off the series this month with the highly anticipated Iowa State Poker Championship (ISPC), followed by a return in November for the MSPT Main Event. In addition, Grand Falls Casino is set to host its first-ever MSPT stop in August, providing poker enthusiasts across the state a chance to compete for significant prize pools.
At Riverside Casino’s March stop earlier this year, 718 entries were logged over three days, and Michael Berk emerged victorious, winning $142,467 shortly after losing his regular job. Poker players are eagerly awaiting more high-stakes action, especially with the $300,000 guaranteed ISPC and the upcoming MSPT Main Event.

Riverside Casino and Grand Falls Casino to Host High-Stakes Poker Events
This June, Riverside Casino will host the $300,000 guaranteed Iowa State Poker Championship, which runs from June 29 to July 23. The Main Event takes place from July 20 to July 23, with three initial flights giving participants plenty of opportunities to join. Riverside Casino will then host another MSPT Main Event from November 2 to November 5, providing even more chances for players to compete in one of Iowa’s premier poker events.
In a major development for Iowa poker, Grand Falls Casino will host its first-ever Mid-States Main Event this August. The $200,000 guaranteed tournament will run from August 18 to August 20, and while the full schedule is yet to be released, excitement is building for this historic debut. Grand Falls, known for its private poker room with around 30 tables, will be an excellent venue for the growing poker community.
Beyond Iowa, the Silverado Casino in Deadwood, South Dakota, will also host the MSPT’s South Dakota State Poker Championship in October. This marks the fourth time the Silverado has hosted the MSPT, further cementing Deadwood’s reputation as a burgeoning gaming hub.
With Iowa lacking legalized online poker, these live events offer a thrilling alternative for poker players in the state. As the Mid-States Poker Tour continues to expand, these tournaments provide top-tier opportunities for poker fans to engage in competitive play while chasing significant prize pools.
