Bally’s Chicago has officially launched its VIP Lounge, adding a touch of luxury to the downtown temporary casino housed in the historic Medinah Temple. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 19 marked the opening, inviting eligible guests to experience this exclusive retreat, designed to offer unique perks and a serene atmosphere away from the bustling gaming floor.

What to Expect in the New VIP Lounge
Mark Wong, vice president and general manager of Bally’s Chicago, described the VIP Lounge as “an exclusive benefit for VIP Bally Rewards members.” It provides a relaxing space for socializing and enjoying complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages. While Illinois online casinos remain unavailable, residents seeking slots and table games can only visit one of the state’s 15 retail casinos, with Bally’s being the sole casino in downtown Chicago.
The VIP Lounge operates daily from noon to 3 a.m., featuring complimentary food service from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can indulge in a menu that includes meatballs, chicken wings, stuffed mushrooms, and fried ravioli. While alcoholic beverages are not served, the lounge boasts four large-screen TVs for private viewing of sporting events and accommodates up to 30 guests with various non-alcoholic drink options, such as coffee, tea, and sodas.
Future Developments on the Horizon
The opening of the VIP Lounge comes as Bally’s prepares for the construction of its permanent Chicago casino, anticipated to be completed by 2026. Demolition at the Tribune Freedom Center site is set to commence soon, paving the way for a state-of-the-art facility that will be one of the few casinos located in a major city’s downtown area.
