Connecticut has made significant strides in its sports betting landscape, now boasting five active brick-and-mortar sportsbooks. This week, the Connecticut Lottery, in collaboration with SugarHouse Sportsbook and Sportech, launched two new sportsbook locations at Bobby V’s in Stamford and Windsor Locks.
Patrons aged 21 and older can now visit these sites to place bets in person at various kiosks and ticket windows. This development not only enhances the state’s betting options but also allows the Lottery to concentrate on launching additional venues across Connecticut.
Bobby V’s Sportsbooks Now Open for Betting
The Bobby V’s sportsbooks in Windsor Locks and Stamford represent the second and third joint ventures between the Connecticut Lottery, Sportech, and SugarHouse. The first collaboration opened at Sport Haven in New Haven earlier this week.
The Windsor Locks location began operations on Tuesday, while the Stamford site opened its doors on Wednesday. Each venue features over 20 self-service betting kiosks alongside a dedicated betting window within the on-site Winners Racebook.
As with all sports betting in Connecticut, participants must be at least 21 years old to place wagers at either site. Those enrolled in the state’s gambling self-exclusion program are not permitted to participate.
The Windsor Locks sportsbook operates daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., while the Stamford location at 268 Atlantic St. has extended hours, open:
- Sundays: 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Mondays – Thursdays: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Fridays and Saturdays: 11:30 a.m. to midnight
Both locations maintain the same operational hours for the Winners Racebook, providing ample opportunities for sports enthusiasts to engage in betting. With these retail locations now operational, the momentum is expected to drive further expansions throughout the state.
Upcoming Sports Betting Options Across Connecticut
Several other Sportech venues in Connecticut currently feature Winners Racebooks and are poised to introduce sports betting under the Connecticut Lottery and SugarHouse partnership. The Winners website indicates that sports betting is “coming soon” to locations in Hartford, Manchester, Milford, New Britain, Norwalk, Torrington, and Waterbury.
Connecticut law permits the Lottery to establish up to 15 retail sportsbooks. While there has been no official announcement regarding the opening dates for these additional sites, the Lottery has not revealed any further potential locations beyond those associated with Sportech.
If the Connecticut Lottery achieves its full capacity for retail wagering, residents could eventually enjoy the option of up to 17 brick-and-mortar sportsbooks, supplementing the three online betting platforms already available.
